Storage | Shelf Life | How-to-Eat

How do I store my pies/cakes/doughnuts/baked goods?

All pies and cakes need to be refrigerated unless otherwise noted. Doughnuts/Malasadas with cream/custard filling can be left out in room temperature for 2 hours, any longer please keep them refrigerated. Storage for other baked goods will vary depending on the item.

How long will the pies/cakes/doughnuts last?

Pies and cakes are good for up to 5 days as long as they are stored in an airtight container and refrigerated. Doughnuts/Malasadas are typically best the day they are made, but they can be kept in the fridge and reheated as needed up until the next day.

How do I eat the pies/cakes/doughnuts?

Custard/cream pies are best consumed cold, there is no need to reheat. Pies that are made of ganache are best to eat after leaving out in room temp for 20-30 minutes. Pies with fruit fillings can be reheated in a 350F oven for 15-20 minutes. Doughnuts/Malasadas that have been refrigerated can be reheated in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. Tres leches cakes and chiffon cakes can be consumed straight from the fridge. Butter cakes with Swiss meringue buttercream must be taken out of the fridge for approximately an hour prior to consumption.
